As someone whose memory is terrible, I hope I never forget the way I felt before, during, and after the totality. I remember my anxiety growing as the world got darker. I remember the shadows looking weird. I remember getting colder and fear gripping my heart. I remember trying to act like I was okay when I know I wasn't okay. There are still lingering effects and it's hard for me to think back on it without crying, even watching this video brought me to tears. But I also remember the relief that I felt when the sun came back, when everything started to warm back up, and when the shadows started to look normal again. I really hope that a never forget it.

I started watching this channel in 4th grade and now im graduating high school and still so engaged and getting so much out of every video. You make math so accessible and are probably one of the big reasons im pursuing math in college. I love how at its core, you always teach the wonder of math and the excitement that can be found in the universe, and you do you with such fluidity and talent that anyone watching will take away valuable information.

With you describing the eclipse, it seems reasonable that our ancestors feared its awakening. They, along with you it seems, seen the eclipse with horror and awfulness of the totality and appreciated the state of normality with the omnipresent rising sun, the giver of light and life, fully in form. We began to know the unknown and therefore not fear it, appreciating the eclipse like the celestial wonder we now know it today. I cannot judge. I haven’t seen the totality. But I hope I can one day. I'd link to one, but UA-cam doesn't like links in comments nowadays, nor can I find a video of a professional croissant maker _rapidly_ cutting triangles, but I did find the video "Croissant Masterclass with Scott Megee", in which at the 13-minute mark Megee precisely defines the isosceles triangles one should create in order to make croissants.
